Jinkoji Temple

 Located in Tateishi you can find the Jinkoji Temple.


Jinkoji Temple is a short walk away from the Onoetei Guest House, where you have the opportunity to stay at a Japanese Heritage listed building and experience how island life felt over 50 years ago.

In recent years the temple has been damaged by the ravages of time as well as the many wild boars that inhabit the island. Hence the temporary fencing that you will see here.

If you plan to visit Sanuki Hiroshima Island, we recommend you come and see both Jinkoji Temple and the Onoetei Guest House if you are in the area.

Getting to Hiroshima Island

  Bisan Ferry - Enoura Port Getting to Hiroshima Island is very easy as the island is serviced by Bisan Ferry. There is much to do here on Hiroshima Island. Please stop by the port office as you leave the ferry as you can find booklets containing information on the multiple sights here on the island.  There is a small shop  located inside the port office building  where you can hire bicycles and find items for sale made by the locals of the islands.   On weekends you'll find the pizza shop at the port is open with delicious pizza's, ice cream, tea and coffee for sale. Ethical Garden is a wonderful cafe style restaurant that serves coffee, frappe's, pasta and curry and and is open Friday to Sunday (11am to 4pm). You can find Ethical Garden here . There are also a number of vending machines that offer hot and cold drinks around the island.
